Warby Parker announced today that the first Android XR audio glasses will be available for pre-order on November 12.

Officially, these are being referred to by all the parties involved as “Intelligent Eyewear.” Warby Parker shared the following in its earnings call today: “One week from today, on November 12, we’ll begin accepting pre-orders for our first Intelligent Eyewear collection and look forward to delivering customer orders during the holiday season.”

After pre-orders open next Thursday, the glasses will actually ship “during the holiday season.” It’s unclear whether that means shipping just before Thanksgiving week or going into December.

Running Android XR, the glasses feature underlying hardware manufactured by Samsung and powered by Qualcomm chips. Warby Parker, along with Gentle Monster, is responsible for the design.

These are the audio-only glasses without an in-lens display and paired with a camera. You can control them via voice and the side touchpad.

Throughout the year, we’ve seen two variants from each partner, and there presumably will be more designs.

This pre-order tease before the full announcement somewhat matches how the Googlebook got a date before its full unveil a week later.
